A 2-yard skip (also known as a mini skip) holds about 20 to 30 bin bags of waste or roughly 1.5 cubic meters of loose material
A 3-yard skip, commonly known as a mini skip, holds approximately 25 to 35 black bin bags of waste. It has a volume of 3 cubic yards (about 2.3 cubic meters) and is an excellent option for small domestic clear-outs, garden landscaping, or minor DIY jobs.
A 4-yard skip holds roughly 30 to 40 bin bags of waste or up to 3-4 tonnes of heavy materials like soil and rubble. It is the ideal size for small residential projects such as kitchen and bathroom refits, garden clearouts, or garage decluttering.

A 5-yard skip (a popular "midi" skip) holds approximately 40 to 55 black bin bags of waste. It is the perfect size for bulky domestic jobs, such as a bathroom or kitchen refit, garden clearances, or small-scale home renovations.
A 6-yard skip (often called a "small builder’s skip") holds approximately 50 to 60 black bin bags or 27 wheelbarrow loads of waste. It is the largest skip size permitted for heavy materials like soil, concrete, and bricks.
